welcome to Must Love Miles
I’m Jessica
Travel blogger, wife, mom of two girls and former 1st grade teacher turned creative.
After spending years teaching my friends and family about how to get the most out of their vacations by using points and miles (I can’t help it, teaching is in my DNA), I finally decided to write about it!
I’m passionate about helping families go on dream vacations by spending as little as possible through maximizing credit card rewards. This is NOT about opening cards frivolously and going into debt, it’s about putting your normal everyday spend on the right cards to earn points that can be redeemed for flights and luxurious hotel stays.
(You could be here too 😉)

How It All Started
In 2016 I opened my first travel rewards card – the Capital One Venture Card. We were getting a new roof and we had the cash saved for it, but we were also looking to visit some friends in the UK. I opened the card and redeemed the miles earned to erase our flight purchase. For the next several years, that was the extent of my travel hacking strategy. Put expenses on the card, pay off in full, erase travel purchases.
After years of this and a family itching to travel post-Covid, I started looking into planning a trip to Walt Disney World. After calculating the cost of flights and how very little off I would get with erasing expenses, I started researching better travel card options. Through this research, I came across the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card. I learned about the unique ability of this card to transfer points to exclusive travel partners such as Southwest and Hyatt. I immediately applied and used the initial points earned to book our flights to Orlando.
From then on, it’s been a whirlwind of learning the ins and outs of credit card points and miles and I have to say, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card is still my favorite!
